Food Truck Fridays is back for a second year on Fourth Street in downtown Sioux City beginning June 2nd. The event will be held between Jackson and Jones Street next to the old Riviera Theater. Sarah Fish of Downtown Partners said at a press conference Friday that this year there are more vendors to choose from.

“We have some new things coming up this year which are pretty exciting, we are actually non-food, some people who don’t have food trucks which are going be participating in a way this year, and we also have some bricks and mortar businesses that are going to be participation with us also. So we’re really looking to expand this community project that’s come forward and been a big huge success last year, and we are going to make it an even bigger success this year.”
Fish says the event has helped increase the walkability of downtown.

“It’s really helpful, I think, for businesses to get people in their shops and moving and walking again. And in addition, you know, Food Truck Fridays is actually partnering with a brick and mortar company this year. We’re working with Trattoria Fresco, and they’re going to be using their outdoor patio for seating, but they are also going to be doing some great things with a new popup menu this year. ”
Last year, Food Truck Fridays served 750 meals and processed one-thousand transactions. Food truck Fridays begins June 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..
