Opening Panel Round

PETER SAGAL, HOST:

Right now, panel, as traditional, time for you to answer some questions about the week's news. Tom, this week a cow escaped a Colorado farm and fled right to where?

TOM BODETT: This wasn't the mad cow.

SAGAL: No.

BODETT: OK.

PAULA POUNDSTONE: It was annoyed.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: I would say it became a horrified cow.

BODETT: Oh, to the slaughterhouse.

SAGAL: No.

BODETT: Oh. Worse?

SAGAL: Further down the chain.

BODETT: Further down the chain. To the meat market.

SAGAL: No, further down the chain.

BODETT: Oy. The sewage plant.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: Come back a little. Come back a little.

BODETT: How far down are we going?

SAGAL: Too far, too far.

AMY DICKINSON: Too far. Too far.

SAGAL: Back up, back up.

DICKINSON: Back up the chain.

BODETT: A restaurant, a hamburger joint.

SAGAL: McDonald's. How about a McDonald's.

BODETT: There we go, a McDonald's.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: The cow's like "freedom, sweet freedom, I claim sanctuary. Wait a second, what the hell are you guys eating?"

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: And then it's like, oh my god, they said the other cows were all going to college.

(SOUNDBITE OF LAUGHTER)

SAGAL: Darcey the cow escaped from her farm in Brush, Colorado. Her owner didn't even know about it until the cops called her to tell her that Darcey was at the drive-in window at the local McD's. This is the most upsetting event at a McDonald's since a sheet of particleboard escaped and discovered the McRib.
