Rickie Lee Jones.

With her unique beatnik blend of blues, jazz, rock and funk, Rickie Lee Jones burst out with her self-titled debut album in 1979. It was full of instantly likeable songs like "Youngblood" and "Chuck E.'s in Love," which became her signature song. Subsequent albums in the '80s and '90s, including Pirates and Flying Cowboys, were artistic triumphs.

Jones recently moved to New Orleans, and the writing on her most recent album, The Other Side of Desire, is definitely influenced by the Crescent City. She says getting out of Los Angeles and living in New Orleans has affected all aspects of her life. In this session, hear her perform some of her new songs, as well as some older songs that she says she's been reluctant to perform for a while.
