The Weather Station, led by Canadian artist Tamara Lindeman, has drawn an extraordinary amount of praise for the new album Loyalty. New female singer-songwriters are frequently compared to more famous ones like Kate Bush, Patti Smith or Joni Mitchell — but these are often-used archetypes, and just as often, the comparisons are overblown or not particularly accurate.
