Friday is Writing Day examines what makes a great children's book. The Conservatory welcomes Cello Fury. The Morningside College Jazz Festival features a sax player and a multi instrumentalist. The Symphony has a world premiere, LAMB does The Vagina Monologues...and that's all before Sunday!

If you want to see some theater, this might be your last chance for a bit, as Sioux City Community Theatre, LAMB, and Shot in the Dark are coming to the ends of their respective productions. The Grammy nominated, South Dakota Chorale plays Eppley, Mary Treglia has an open house and the Okoboji Winter Games finds a use for all that new snow and ice.

Sioux City Symphony Orchestra CEO Travis Morgan is the guest host. The SCSO will be performing Disney Fantasia, plus Shot and the Dark does a world premiere, Lamb Theatre takes flight (courtesy of a big ol' peach and some gigantic bugs) and an opening reception at the Sioux City Art Center.


Russell and Diana Wooley, the founders of LAMB Arts Regional Theatre & School, announced a capital campaign to turn Sioux City’s old auditorium, at 625 Douglas St., into the Center for the Performing Arts.
