The Orchestra will present a World Premiere of his work. Maestro Ryan Haskins will also lead them through music of Debussy, Hovhaness and Respighi.

Respighi's Church Windows gets the title nod, but the program around it also feature a world premiere from SCSO Composer of the Year, Patrick O'Malley, Debussy's Sunken Cathedral and a mysterious symphony by Alan Hovhaness.

The Sioux City Symphony perform their annual Christmas with the Symphony Concert tomorrow (Saturday) night at the Orpheum Theater. Three area handbell choirs, a dynamic up and coming local violinist and the Mighty Wurlitzer all make appearances.

It's the last concert of the 2017 portion of the 2017-2018 concert season for the SCSO and it's beginning to look, and sound a lot like Christmas. Conductor Ryan Haskins tells us what he can about a show that's shrouded in mystery....and holiday cheer, of course.

Disney Fantasia, a film that was made to showcase classical music, was shown Saturday in the Orpheum Theater. Best of all, the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra performed the score, live! Gretchen Gondek talks with the man in charge of keeping everything in synch, Conductor, Ryan Haskins.

Sioux City Symphony Orchestra CEO Travis Morgan is the guest host. The SCSO will be performing Disney Fantasia, plus Shot and the Dark does a world premiere, Lamb Theatre takes flight (courtesy of a big ol' peach and some gigantic bugs) and an opening reception at the Sioux City Art Center.

Gretchen Hosts 2017 Iowa Piano Competition winner Mackenzie Melemed on this week's Opus. Melemed had a busy week in Siouxland performing at the Sioux City Art Center in addition to his performance with the Sioux City Symphony with the Halloween themed Night of Taunts and Terrors concert.
