This week on The Exchange, we talk with Iowa Third District Senate Candidate Todd Wendt of Le Mars. Wendt retired earlier this year after 17 years as the Superintendent of the Le Mars public schools.
Republican candidates for the Senate seat are Republican Sixth District Iowa House Representative Jim Carlin and Alex Pick of Akron.
Both parties will hold nominating conventions in the next few days.
We also speak with John Engel a University of Iowa lecturer, with the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center. He is also an instructor at Western Iowa Tech Community College. Engel is in charge of the ISU Start Up Games for college students who want to be entrepreneurs. It's being held this weekend at ISU Design West in downtown Sioux City.
And we talk with Bruce Forbes, Professor and Chair of Religious Studies at Morningside College about his newly revised book about the social and religious origins of the five biggest holidays in the United States. They are Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter.
