Pianist Julian Martin will perform a recital of waltzes, sonatas, and tableaux this Saturday in Eppley Auditorium. The artists is now on faculty at Julliard. His career took flight in 1975 as the winner of the Montevideo International Competition. Performances around the world have followed, as have seats on the juries of the major competitions including Montrial, Iowa International, and American Pianists' Foundation.
Dr. James March, director of the Morningside College Piano Recital Series joined us to talk about Martin's program, which consists of waltzes by Brahms and Ravel as well as a sonata by Haydn and two tableaux by Albéniz.
The recital begins at 7:30 PM.
